How long does it take before my domain name is active?

Once Selectyourdomain has received your request for the registration or transfer of a Domain Name it takes approximately 48 hours to complete the Domain Name Registration process.

What is the fee for domain registration ?

When you register your domain name there is an annual fee that is payable to the registration agent (selectyourdomain) of $19.95 - .com, .org and .net, or $39.95 for .ca domains plus applicable taxes. When this payment is made our accounting system runs a pre-authorization check on your credit card. At a later date (approx. 24 hours) the full charge is applied to your card. The pre-authorization amount is credited back to your card up to 72 hours later.

There is also a 2 year option for $39.90 - .com, .org and .net and $79.90 for .ca.

What do the different domain names stand for?

Top Level Domain Names

.com
For businesses and commercial enterprises.

.net
Originally intended to represent the Internet's infrastructure: Network
Information Centers, Network Operations Centers, administrative computers
(such as Domain Name Hosts) and network node computers. 

.org
Designated for miscellaneous entities that do not fit under any of the
other top-level domains. Typically used for non-profit organizations. 

.ca
This is the country code domain name for Canada.

domain names.
